Another GGPoker player has been suspended from the site and the WSOP
More details have surfaced in the ongoing GGPoker collusion scandal involving ambassador Ren “Tony” Lin and the player known as “RealOA.” Following a formal investigation, both individuals have been sanctioned by GGPoker for real-time coaching violations during the GGMillion$ final table on October 14.
The $10,300 buy-in event had awarded $346,903 to “RealOA,” but those winnings have now been seized and redistributed to affected players, including Adrian Mateos and Kelvin Kerber.
GGPoker confirmed that “RealOA,” a China-based player, has been permanently banned from GGPoker, the World Series of Poker (WSOP), and all affiliated partner platforms. Lin, who publicly admitted to offering advice during the match, has been indefinitely suspended. Of the confiscated funds, $250,523 came from “RealOA’s” online wallet, while Lin personally contributed $96,380 to ensure full reimbursement under GGPoker’s refund policy.
Lin has since issued a public apology, saying he did not profit from the incident and had no financial stake in any player. He described his actions as a mistake made in the heat of the moment, claiming he misunderstood the situation as a post-game discussion. Lin admitted his error and said he was “deeply ashamed and remorseful,” accepting full responsibility for his involvement.
The scandal broke after poker player “Buzzcut,” who finished third in the event, shared screenshots suggesting that “RealOA” received live strategic coaching via Tencent Meeting during play. Lin later confirmed he had provided input while watching the stream. The controversy intensified when Lin was disqualified from the WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus Main Event shortly afterward.
In response, GGPoker released a statement reaffirming its commitment to fairness and player protection. The platform emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on real-time assistance, promising ongoing improvements to its detection systems. Both Lin and “RealOA” remain banned from all WSOP events, signaling a strong message from GGPoker that violations of poker integrity will face swift and lasting consequences.
