The Triton Super High Roller Series is taking place on Jeju Island in South Korea and one of our ACR Pros is already making a lot of noise!
Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero finished in 7th place in Event #11 No Limit Hold’em for $946,000. This was the biggest 6-figure buy-in tourney of all time. There were 285 entrants who ponied up the $100,000 buy-in which means the prize pool was a massive $28.5 Million. In total, 47 players finished in the money with a minimum cash of $163,000 and $5,555,000 to the winner.
Other cashes for Barbero so far are as follows:
- Event #5 $30,000 buy-in NLH (19th place for $81,500)
- Event #7 $40,000 buy-in NLH (23rd place for $44,000)
Barbero, a native of Argentina, wasn’t the only ACR representative in South Korea. We awarded two prize packages to our players through a January satellite in our latest High Stakes Adventure promotion. Each package included $110,000 in buy-ins / entry fees, plus business-class airfare and a 5-night stay at a luxury hotel.
Play in South Korea will be continuing through this Friday, March 14th. We will continue chronicling all the action here at the Big Blind Blog whether it involves Nacho or anything else related to ACR.
