Marquez is a professional poker player from Spain. Born August 24, 1987, she is best known for her exploits in online poker tournaments and live events. Her success skyrocketed her to the top player rankings in Spain.

She started playing online tournaments, where her success quickly compounded, leading her to bigger buy-in events.

She started playing poker in 2007 while studying economics at the American University in Washington, D.C. Marquez wrote her bachelor’s dissertation on the history of poker.

She cut her poker-playing teeth in online low-stakes cash games and quickly became a winning player. She then started playing online tournaments, where her success quickly compounded, leading her to bigger buy-in events.

In 2009, Marquez made her first major live tournament appearance, finishing in 7th place in the EPT London Main Event, taking home £125,000.

In 2011, Marquez won her first major live tournament, the Estrellas Poker Tour Madrid Main Event, for €103,000. Later that year, she followed that up with another win in the same series in Valencia, Spain.

Marquez has netted over $1.6 million in career online poker earnings to date. In addition, she has final-tabled numerous Sunday Majors, and outright won the Sunday 500 in 2010.
