The game will take place just ahead of the Poker Showdown Championship
World Poker Tour (WPT) Ambassador Brad Owen will host a WPT Tour Meet-Up Game (MUG) to open the impending WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship series in Hollywood, Florida.
“As we prepare to make our 2024 debut at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, we wanted to plan something special for the festival,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “The MUG gives players and fans alike the opportunity to meet and play with Brad Owen and get excited for a world-class festival of events.”
The MUG is scheduled to start at 11 AM on Thursday, April 18, the day before Day 1A of the $3,500 Championship tournament. Owen will sit down for the $2/$5 cash game, along with WPT commentator Vince Van Patten and Executive Tour Director Matt Savage.
“I’m pumped to return to the world-famous Guitar Hotel for another meet-up game,” said Owen. “Last year’s MUG at the Poker Showdown was a blast, and we’re eager to bring back that hype to the Florida crowd for the upcoming SHRPS.”
The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown commences on April 3 and continues through April 23. This year’s Championship event will run from April 19-23 after the 2023 WPT Championship attracted 2,290 entries and generated $7,328,000 in prizes. Bin Weng, the 2023 WPT Player of the Year, would ultimately take the win to claim $1,128,250 and his first title on the WPT Tour.
