Stanford now has seven rings and is on his way to the top of the leaderboard
William Stanford made a dominant statement at the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica, winning three events and adding to his growing collection of championship rings. Entering the festival with four WSOP Circuit titles already under his belt, he wasted no time making an impact, securing his fifth, sixth, and seventh rings in a single series.
His first victory came in Event #9: $400 No-Limit Hold’em. After narrowly missing out on the previous tournament, he jumped into late registration and quickly turned things around. Doubling up almost immediately, he gained momentum and navigated his way to the top, taking home $13,075 along with his fifth career ring.
Stanford wasn’t done. The following day, he entered Event #10, a $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller tournament. Facing a tough field, he once again found himself in a commanding position, ultimately claiming his second consecutive title. This win earned him an impressive $36,423 and marked his sixth WSOP Circuit victory.
For a brief stretch, it appeared he might take a break from the winner’s circle. But in the penultimate event of the series, he put together another deep run. This time, he outlasted the competition to win yet another WSOP Circuit ring—his third of the festival and seventh overall. The victory in this final event brought him an additional $17,262, solidifying his status as one of the most successful players in the series.
His latest achievement places him alongside Preston McEwen, another skilled competitor who also reached seven WSOP Circuit titles at Horseshoe Tunica. With his continued success, Stanford has established himself as a major force in the poker world, proving his ability to dominate at the highest levels of circuit competition.
