The controversial British poker player caused a scene after being sent to the rail
Will Kassouf’s 2025 World Series of Poker journey came to a dramatic end on Day 7 of the Main Event, and it wasn’t just because he busted out. The British poker pro, known for his controversial table talk and antics, was officially banned from the remainder of the WSOP following his exit, capping off a week filled with disputes and rule violations.

Kassouf finished 33rd in the tournament, earning $300,000, but his elimination was overshadowed by his behavior throughout the day. His final hand came against Kenny Hallaert, who called Kassouf’s all-in with King-five suited against pocket sevens.
A King on the turn sealed Kassouf’s fate, and after the river bricked, the scene turned chaotic. With the crowd booing and shouting, Kassouf responded with frustration, pleading for different river outcomes and exchanging words with railbirds before leaving the table.
Tournament Director Dennis Jones informed Kassouf immediately after the hand that he was banned for the rest of the series. That decision came on the heels of multiple incidents involving slow play, verbal clashes with other players, and disputes with floor staff. Kassouf had already received a one-round penalty earlier in the day for stalling, and tensions had been building steadily throughout the week.
Attempts by Kassouf to speak with WSOP Vice President Jack Effel were unclear, and his exit became even more tense when security escorted him from the premises. Las Vegas police were seen nearby during the incident, though it’s not known whether any formal intervention occurred.
While Kassouf has long been a polarizing figure in the poker world, his 2025 Main Event run drew more criticism than praise. His familiar antics appeared to cross the line from entertaining to disruptive. By day’s end, tournament officials had clearly run out of patience. This time, the line was crossed—and the door was closed.
