The two criminals had already been banned from poker in other states
Two well-known poker cheats were caught once again last week, this time at The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, Texas. The incident involved Norberto Pardo, 49, and Yaiquel Mosqueda-Perez, 43, both of whom had previously been banned from multiple poker rooms in other states.
The pair were recognized by poker vlogger Anthony Martino, who noticed them playing in a $1/$2/$5 pot-limit Omaha game. Martino had encountered the two years earlier and was familiar with their reputation. After identifying them, he alerted The Lodge staff that both players had a history of cheating.
Casino staff quickly removed the deck from the table and conducted an inspection. The cards were found to be marked, confirming suspicions of foul play. The Lodge later confirmed that Pardo and Mosqueda-Perez were permanently banned from the property for card marking.
According to Martino, the duo has relied on the same method for years. They allegedly worked together from specific seats, often sitting diagonally across from each other. If those seats were taken, Martino claims they would offer money to other players to move.
Martino said the two would signal one another and target players seated between them, using the marked cards to gain an unfair advantage. He believes the cheating went unnoticed for months in earlier encounters before patterns became clear.
The situation escalated after Martino shared the incident publicly. He later received threatening text messages from Pardo, which he also made public. Records show Pardo has prior arrests in Florida, while Mosqueda-Perez is permanently banned from casinos in that state.
Reports suggest the pair have also been barred from poker rooms in several other states. Martino says his goal is to warn the poker community, noting that the two appear to move from casino to casino after each ban.
