The Latvian poker pro added $358,400 to his bankroll for the win
The final stretch of the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas festival delivered some of its most exciting results, as several marquee events wrapped up with big payouts and standout performances. One of the week’s largest scores came from Vitalijs Zavorotnijs, who topped a tough 158-entry field in the $10,300 high roller.
The Latvian pro secured $358,400 for the win, marking the second-biggest score of his live career—trailing only his WPT Barcelona triumph in 2019. However, his path to the title was far from easy, as the final table included elite names such as two- time WPT champion Bin Weng, five-time WSOP bracelet winner Kristen Foxen, and high-stakes standout Isaac Haxton.
The victory also earned Zavorotnijs 720 Card Player Player of the Year points and 358 PokerGO Tour points, though it wasn’t enough to qualify him for the NAPT Dream Seat leaderboard due to the PGT’s two-cash minimum requirement.
Because Zavorotnijs posted only one cash during the festival, Nick Petrangelo ultimately locked up the Dream Seat and a spot in the exclusive $1 million PGT Championship.
The festival’s final days also saw strong showings across other high-stakes events. Sam Soverel captured the title in a $12,300 bounty tournament, while PokerStars ambassador Maria Konnikova added a trophy of her own in a $5,300 event, further rounding out an action-packed finish at Resorts World Las Vegas.
