The duo are the first two players from Brazil to appear on the list
Two Brazilian poker players have been rising in the ranks since the start of 2023 as the country continues securing its position as producing some of the best players worldwide. Yuri Martins and Pablo Brito had many notable accomplishments last year and found themselves within poker’s Top 10 in World Earnings.
Isaac Haxton is at the top of the list for 2023, recently becoming the 15th player to surpass $35 million in career earnings. He was the first player to reach the $5 million mark in live tournament cashes in 2023, ending the year with almost $17 million in winnings. Chris Brewer was second in earnings in 2023 with $14.35 million and took two bracelets at last summer’s World Series of Poker.
Coming in at eight and nine, respectively, are Martins and Brito. Martins is a São Paulo native and didn’t take long to make his mark on the international poker circuit. He had wins in several big tournaments in 2023, including the Super High Roller Bowl Europe in Barcelona for a $2.5 million payday.
Martins began 2023 in 55th place on the world earnings list but would end the season ranked 8th. He’s number one on Brazil’s all-time money list with $6,126,321 in live earnings.
Brito proved himself to be a dedicated and consistent poker player in 2023. He finished 6th in the European Poker Tour Super High Roller at the EPT Prague for $190,107 and took his biggest cash in 2023 of $221,642 after finishing second at the EPT Barcelona No-Limit Hold ’em Event #16. Brito has $3,037,315 in career earnings, putting him sixth on the Brazilian all-time money list.
