Tom Dwan suffers one of the worst bad beats in the history of the series
The first night of the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game on Tuesday drew more than 27,000 viewers. All of them witnessed Tom Dwan suffer one of the worst bad beats on the popular livestream series.
The first big pot of the night occurred on the first hand, with Dan betting $33,000 holding the nut straight after the river. Hook raised to $105,000 after hitting a full house before Dan made a great fold.
Dwan was already down about $400,000 and was making a comeback before his luck drastically changed. Peter started under the gun, holding pocket tens, and raised to $4,000. Steve called with A-J of diamonds, and Dwan called with 9-4 suited. Hook paid to see the flop holding 7-5 offsuit, and all four players made a stab at the pot after it came out 4D-4S-6D.
Hook checked, and Peter bet $8,000. Steve called with his nut flush draw, but Dwan raised to $36,000 with his set of fours. Hook folded, and the others called to see the turn. The 10-S was a brutal card for Dwan, giving Peter a full house.
Dwan bet $76,000, with Peter deciding to slow play and make the call and Steve mucking his flush draw. After the 2-H on the river, Peter checked to draw Dwan into betting $167,000.
Peter then had to decide how much to raise Dwan. He chose to bet $425,000, which was less than most viewers expected. Dwan thought about it for several minutes before making the call, only to realize he’d lost the $1,129,000 pot. At the time of writing, Dwan was down about $800,000.
Hustler Casino Live will host three additional days of $1 million cash games from May 29 to 31.
