Two players have already bagged big wins as the series unfolds

The PokerGO Tour’s annual series of high-roller tournaments is in its fourth year, and with two events at the 2024 PokerGO Cup in the books, regulars David Peters and Dylan Weisman have taken the first two events.

Peters would win In Event #1, a $5000 No-Limit Hold ’em tournament, over 111 entries who built a prize pool of $555,000, with sixteen players earning a share of the pot. He started with a sizeable chip lead among the six players remaining on the final day.

Cody Daniels finished in sixth place ($27,750), and Dusti Smith would take fifth ($36,075) after starting the final day as the short stack. Peters then eliminated Fabian Quoss in fourth place ($49,950) and Shawn Daniels in third ($63,825) before taking the final hand against Mark Loli ($88,000) with queen high to win the title.

Event #2, a $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold ’em tournament, started on Friday. Eighty-nine players entered to build an $890,000 prize pool, with 13 players finishing in the money. Canada’s Mike Watson began the final day in the chip lead over Byron Kaverman at the six-player final table.

David Coleman would fall in sixth place ($44,500) after his K-Q couldn’t catch up to Danel Smiljkovic’s A-Q. Dylan Weisman moved into the chip lead before taking out Watson in fifth place ($62,300), with Anthony Hu following him to the rail in fourth ($80,100).

Weisman would take down Kaverman in third ($111,250) to take a 10.2 million to 925,000 chip lead as heads-up play began against Smiljkovic. He would double up once through Weisman but fell on the final hand after his 9-8 off-suit failed against Weisman’s A-J. Smiljkovic would earn $155,750 as runner-up.
