The Oregon native took home over $280,00 to edge closer to $1 million in live tournament cashes
Taylor Hart secured his third WSOP Circuit ring after winning the main event at Turning Stone Casino and Resort in New York. The Oregon native claimed the top prize of $280,770, bringing his career earnings past $950,000. His latest victory came in a $1,700 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament, which drew 1,183 entrants and generated a prize pool of nearly $1.8 million, easily surpassing the guaranteed $1 million.
Hart entered the final table with a significant chip lead and maintained control for much of the session. The early eliminations saw Aaron Gao and Joseph Molitor exit in ninth and eighth place, followed by Yuriy Kuorynskyy and Allen Krouth.
Despite multiple double-ups among the remaining contenders, Hart held firm at the top. Anthony Runza finished fifth before Hart finally scored his first knockout by eliminating Thomas Couture in fourth place.
The heads-up battle between Hart and Michael Aman had one of the most talked-about moments of the tournament—a 20-minute decision tank by Aman on a crucial river bet. Eventually, he folded, giving a crucial pot to Hart.
While Aman managed to seize the chip lead briefly, Hart regained momentum and sealed the win in a dramatic final hand. Aman, holding pocket jacks, moved all in after a board of K-Q-6-J-4, only to run into Hart’s ace-ten, which completed a Broadway straight. Aman settled for second place and a career-best payout of $187,172.
Following his victory, Hart praised the tournament staff and players at Turning Stone, saying he enjoyed the atmosphere and competition. The WSOP Circuit now moves to Las Vegas, where Horseshoe Casino is hosting the next event, with the main tournament set to take place from March 28 to April 1.
