The podcast has reached its end after a three-year run
After a consistent three-year run, the podcast Only Friends—created by Matt Berkey and the Solve For Why team—has officially signed off. The show, which streamed nearly every day since its debut in March 2022, ended with its 719th episode, closing the curtain on a format that poker fans had grown to rely on.
Berkey, a respected figure in the high-stakes poker world and the founder of Solve For Why, announced the podcast’s ending earlier this year. He cited multiple reasons, including the loss of their Las Vegas recording studio and increasing pressure from YouTube’s changing policies around gambling-related content. These combined factors led Berkey and the crew to make the call that it was time to move on.
To commemorate the final episode, the team hosted a special four-hour livestream featuring appearances from well-known figures in the poker scene, such as Jason Sommerville, Jesse Sylvia, Ryan Depaulo, and Nikki Limo. The event served as both a send-off and a celebration of what the show had built.
It’s a bittersweet day as we are live w/our 719th and final episode. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ride. We really appreciate all the support and loyalty day in and day out. Let’s go out w/a bang💥

The podcast stood out for its honest conversations, humor, and commentary on the poker world. Regular contributors like Landon Tice, Conrad Simpson, Melissa Schubert, and Brian “Tortoise” Lamanna helped shape a show that didn’t shy away from difficult topics. Whether discussing cheating controversies or current events in the poker community, the show remained a space where nothing felt off limits.
Reactions from the poker world poured in following the announcement. Many, including Joey Ingram, Lance Bradley, and Caitlin Comeskey, expressed their appreciation and disappointment at seeing it go. Bradley summed it up simply: “The end of a very impressive run.”
