The event attracted a record 3,610 entries and gave Cohen over $200,000 for his performance

Sacha Cohen delivered on expectations at the 2026 Winamax Poker Tour Grande Finale, turning a strong chip lead into a career-defining victory. Backed by a vocal rail of friends and supporters, he closed out the event by defeating Lucien Cervettaz in a tense heads-up match. The win earned him €180,000 (US$208,000) and the tour’s signature sword trophy.

The tournament attracted a record 3,610 entries, building a prize pool of more than €1.5 million (US$1.5 million). Cervettaz collected €130,000 (US$150,00) for second place, while Samuel Fournier finished third for €95,000 (US$110,000). Hervé Gouzil added €70,000 (US$81,000) for fourth after a strong week that included another title earlier in the series.

Cohen showed control throughout the final table, navigating short stacks and frequent all-ins. With most players sitting between 20 and 25 big blinds, action moved quickly. He stayed composed, picking spots carefully and avoiding unnecessary risks as the field shrank.

The final stages brought tougher decisions. Fournier exited in third after running into a stronger holding, setting up the final duel. Cohen entered heads-up play with momentum, but Cervettaz pushed back and caught several well-timed bluffs, forcing Cohen to adjust his strategy.

The match turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both players trading doubles. Cohen eventually gained a decisive edge after winning a key all-in, leaving his opponent short. Cervettaz managed to survive a couple more times, but a final clash ended his run and sealed the title.

The win carried personal meaning for Cohen, who has steadily built his reputation on the French poker scene. After several near-misses in recent years, he finally secured a major trophy. His father, a former WSOP bracelet winner, remained a strong influence throughout his journey.

With this result, Cohen adds a major title to his resume and looks ahead to bigger goals. A World Series of Poker bracelet is now firmly on his list, as he prepares for upcoming events in Europe and Las Vegas.
