The long-time grinder took down the $100,000 Triton Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event

Sam Soverel capped off an incredible run at WSOP Paradise by winning the $100,000 Triton Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event for $2.6 million, earning his fourth career WSOP bracelet. The event stretched long into the early morning on Day 2, prompting organizers to add an extra day. When play resumed, Soverel needed only 15 minutes to finish the job, using a massive chip lead to secure the biggest payday of his career.

The victory pushes Soverel’s lifetime earnings to more than $31 million and continues a dominant year that already included a bracelet win in the $10,000 Six-Max Championship. His confidence was clear after the win, saying he was simply happy to be competing and enjoying the challenge.

The tournament drew 103 entries and generated a prize pool of over $10 million. Several stars made deep runs, including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Jesse Lonis, while Ben Tollerene narrowly missed the money. The final table delivered heavyweight clashes from the start, with Nacho Barbero claiming his second eighth-place finish of the series and Joni Jouhkimainen busting in seventh after losing a key showdown to Philip Sternheimer.

The eliminations continued quickly. Ben Lamb exited in sixth after running aces into Andras Nemeth, and Sternheimer followed in fifth when his kings couldn’t fade Daniel Dvoress’ flopped wheel. Richard Gryko’s strong festival continued with a fourth-place finish before Dvoress bowed out in third, earning more than $1.1 million.

Soverel entered heads-up play with a commanding lead over Nemeth and maintained control from the restart. The final hand saw his kings improve to a set, ending the match and earning Nemeth a career-best $1.75 million. It was a fast finish to a high-stakes marathon and another defining moment in Soverel’s standout year.
