The event drew big names and the battle was tough before Moulder claimed the title
Patrick Moulder overcame a final table that included bracelet winner Chad Eveslage to win Event #56: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw at the 2024 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
The tournament drew 371 entrants, creating a $825,475 prize pool. Fifteen players remained on Day 3, each guaranteed at least an $8,861 payday.
“It means so much to me,” said Moulder following the win. “My goal coming into the summer was to make one final table. I got to one early in the summer and got knocked out right away. It was nice to have a long Day 3 and get across the finish line”.
Moulder started the final day as the chip leader and maintained that lead until the final table. Anthony Hu (7th for $19,106) was the first player eliminated after falling to Chan in a 2-7 triple draw hand.
Chan took the chip lead following that hand. However, Moulder started his comeback by knocking out Deeb (6th for $26,033), who was followed to the rail by Matthew Smith (5th for $36,387).
Chad Eveslage (4th for $52,140) was the final bracelet winner remaining before Moulder took him down in an A-5 triple draw hand. Yuebin Guo (3rd for $76,547) survived for over two hours in three-handed play before falling to Chan in another hand of A-5 triple draw.
Moulder wasted no time taking back the chip lead in heads-up play. The final hand saw the champion make a six-low to take the pot in a hand of A-5 triple draw and the $177,045 winner’s prize. Chan secured his biggest career cash of $115,073 for second place.
