The long-time grinder now has three No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw Championship titles
Nick Schulman added another major milestone to his poker career on Wednesday night, winning his seventh World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after one of the most intense heads-up battles in recent memory. The 40-year-old New York native took down the $10,000 No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw Championship, a title he’s now claimed three times—more than any other player in the modern era.
Schulman faced off against Darren Elias in a heads-up match that stretched nearly eight hours without a break. Both players had control at different points, trading leads back and forth in what turned into a test of mental endurance as much as poker skill. In the end, Schulman’s ten-eight low held up in the final hand after Elias failed to improve his draw. The win earned Schulman $497,356—the biggest first-place prize ever awarded in this specific event.
This tournament drew a record 233 entries, and Schulman had to survive a tough final table that included Dan Smith, Ben Yu, Chad Eveslage, and Oscar Johansson. He knocked out Smith early and later eliminated Eveslage, setting the stage for the grueling heads-up match with Elias.
Elias, despite being a four-time World Poker Tour champion, had never played heads-up for a WSOP bracelet before. He came close, even holding a solid chip lead at times, but ultimately fell short. Schulman had high praise for Elias, calling him one of the toughest players in the game.
With this victory, Schulman becomes just the 13th player in WSOP history to win seven bracelets. He now sits among poker’s elite, not just for his titles but for his consistent performance. His career earnings have reached nearly $24 million, and this latest win also moved him to the top of the 2025 PokerGO Tour leaderboard.
