Dnegs seems to have a unique ability to know other players’ hole cards
Some might characterize Daniel Negreanu’s talent for making precise predictions of his opponent’s hands as mere guesswork. In contrast, others might assert that it combines factors such as his intense concentration, meticulousness, and skill in identifying patterns in his opponents’ strategies.
Negreanu is skilled at developing player profiles by analyzing past actions, using logic and deduction to narrow down opponents’ possible hands, and interpreting emotions to gain an advantage.

These sharp instincts were again utilized effectively during the 2024 World Series of Poker $250,000 Super High Roller event. With blinds at 50,000-100,000, Negreanu raised to 200,000 with A-S, J-D, while Charles Hook called from the small blind with pocket eights. Santhosh Suvarna called from the big blind holding Q-H, 9-C.
The flop came A-H, 8-H, 4-C, and action checked to Negreanu, who bet 250,000 with his pair of bullets. Survarna folded before Hook raised to 550,000 with his set of eights, and Negreanu eventually made the call.
The A-H on the turn gave the Canadian a set of aces. However, Hook was ahead with a full house. Hook bet 700,000, and Negreanu again thought for several seconds before calling. After the 7-S on the river, Hook pushed all-in, putting the rest of Kid Poker’s 2.1 million chips at risk.
Negreanu said he “almost folded on the flop” and then asked, “What is going on?” He proceeded to correctly predict the cards in Hook’s hand, stating, “Pocket eights all day, twice on Sunday,” before using a chip to extend his time.
After contemplating for a few more seconds, Negreanu decided to fold, concluding another impressive read of his opponent’s hand.
