The goal will be to see if either can go a year without alcohol, cigarettes or drugs

Two well-known poker pros have added a new side wager to their rivalry. Michael Mizrachi and Chino Rheem agreed to a $100,000 prop bet centered not on cards, but on lifestyle discipline. The challenge is simple in theory: go a full year without drinking alcohol, smoking, or using recreational drugs.

The bet recently came up during a YouTube interview featuring Mizrachi alongside other poker figures. He shared that both players have already joked about asking for a “pass” at times. Still, the structure is clear. If both men complete the year clean, the bet ends in a wash, and no money changes hands.

There is also the possibility that neither makes it to the finish line. In that case, depending on how the terms are enforced, someone could owe six figures. One exception to the rules allows hookah and vaping, but everything else is off-limits.

Mizrachi, fresh off his 2025 world championship victory and a recent Hall of Fame induction, believes he holds the edge. He openly called himself the favorite, suggesting Rheem’s well-known fondness for marijuana could make the challenge tougher for his opponent. Rheem, a three-time World Poker Tour champion, has already made multiple high roller final tables this year.

The conversation did not stop there. Mizrachi also floated another personal challenge, claiming he could develop six-pack abs before the start of the 2026 World Series of Poker. That side bet did not attract any takers.
