Estes defeated Grant Keller for the title and the top prize
Michael Estes took home a major victory at the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Hammond Main Event, winning the top prize of $198,576. The $1,700 buy-in tournament, hosted at the Horseshoe Hammond casino in Indiana, attracted 746 players, but Estes outlasted the field to claim the coveted WSOP Circuit ring.
In the final showdown, Estes faced off against Grant Keller in a heads-up battle for the title. Keller walked away with $132,386 for his second-place finish, while Kristopher Magruder secured third place and $91,159. Sargan Guliana, another strong contender, earned $63,981 for finishing in fourth place.
Angela Jordison, who has been on a hot streak in recent weeks, added another cash to her impressive run, finishing 20th and taking home $10,135. Jordison’s recent accomplishments include winning a WSOP Circuit ring in Council Bluffs and a Mid-States Poker Tour Main Event, where she earned $161,513.
This win marks Estes’ second WSOP Circuit ring, having won his first last year in a $400 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack event, where he took home $48,464. Estes, who hails from Chicago, now boasts more than $835,000 in lifetime tournament earnings, according to The Hendon Mob database.
While the Hammond stop wrapped up with Erik Hagerman winning the $400 No-Limit Hold’em 30k Closer for $14,245, the action continues at the WSOP Circuit. The tour is now heading to Northern California for the next stop at Thunder Valley Resort and Casino.
Estes’ victory highlights his growing reputation as a fierce competitor on the poker circuit, solidifying his place in the upper ranks of live tournament players.
