The WSOPC grinder already topped the leaderboard and will now remain there
Maurice Hawkins has further solidified his status as the most successful player in World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) history by securing his 25th career ring. This latest victory occurred at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina, where he navigated a field of 631 entrants to claim the top prize of $113,233 in the $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event. By capturing this title, Hawkins extended his lead over other prominent players such as Ari Engel and Daniel Lowery, who remain in second place with 20 rings each.
The final table featured several high-level competitors, including runner-up James Calderaro. Calderaro earned $75,400 for his performance and possesses a career history that includes a WSOP bracelet and over $6.5 million in total live tournament earnings.
Another notable participant was Jarod Minghini, who finished in eighth place for $10,770 and holds five previous Circuit rings along with $2.4 million in live tournament cashes. Despite the strength of the field, Hawkins successfully maintained his position and surpassed the $7 million milestone in career live tournament earnings through this specific win.
Hawkins has maintained a consistent pace throughout his career after winning his initial Circuit ring in 2008. His performance this year has been particularly notable as he has already added three new rings to his total collection.
The current series at Harrah’s Cherokee consists of 18 separate ring events and is scheduled to conclude on Monday with the finalization of the $1,700 buy-in Main Event. Once this series finishes, the focus of the poker world will shift toward Las Vegas to prepare for the upcoming summer series that features 100 gold bracelets.
