The poker cruise has run its course, with side events proving as popular as the rest

The inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) Voyage event has concluded its Caribbean cruise aboard the Valiant Lady. Many non-poker events were featured during the weeklong festival, but the poker tournaments attracted hundreds of pros on board, with a handful lucky enough to go home with a WPT trophy.

Matt Savage spent most of his time managing the activities, but the WPT Executive Tour Director made time to sit down and play one tournament on the WPT Voyage. That single tournament was all he needed, as he would ship the $660 buy-in Omaha 8 event for $9,517. The “Savage Average” founder posed for the winner’s photo with his wife, Maryann Savage, before an evening at The Manor nightclub aboard the Valiant Lady to celebrate with the WPT family and media members.

Caitlin Comeskey is very familiar with trophies. She won the award for Best Short-Form Content Creator at this year’s GPI awards. She now adds a WPT trophy to her collection after taking down the $240 buy-in Ladies Event for $10,451.

The event drew 231 players and had a $46,200 prize pool. Also at the final table were the WPT’s Andrea King (5th for $2,809), Sarah Landell (3rd for $5,078) and Jemikka Casella (2nd for $6,943).

Aram Oganyan was one of the big winners during the voyage, taking the $5,000 WPT Voyage Championship for $203,845 after chopping the pot three ways with Carlo Basurto (2nd for $202,885) and Austin Srur (3rd for $188,670). Brazilian Gregory De Faria won the $1,100 WPT Voyage Prime Championship outright to take home $155,400.
