The long-time player and poker author continues to find success at the felt

The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) resumed its 2024 schedule, with plenty of exciting action happening last weekend at the $525 WSOPC Online Main Event. Over 500 entries boosted the prize pool from the guaranteed $200,000 to $252,000, with Maria Konnikova walking away with the top prize.

Konnikova, a poker author and player, took home $57,532 in what was her first-ever WSOPC online event. While it wasn’t Konniva’s first tournament win, it was significant because it was her first online. Her biggest cash was at the PCA National back in January of 2018, taking $84,600 for first place.

She also had a big year in 2018, winning over $57,000 after finishing second in a tournament in Macau. Her next three biggest wins were less than $31,000, including 30th at the PCA Main Event this year. Now that Konniva has her first win online, she may have found a new source of revenue.

Konnikova is also the author of a popular book, The Biggest Bluff, which helped her become a PokerStars ambassador. Her work with PokerStars might make her more popular in the industry, but her WSOPC win gives her a chance to sit down at the WSOP Tournament of Champions later this year.

Jason Pew finished second after Konnikova beat him heads-up action, taking home $35,456. Two-time bracelet winner Desmond Haynes took home $23,217 for third place, and Calvin Anderson finished in fourth place for $16,834.
