The Women in Poker Hall of Fame inductee showed off her skills against a tough table
Maria Ho claimed another impressive poker victory, winning the 2024 Celebrity Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas. The celebrated poker pro outlasted a field filled with stars from various industries, including comedians, athletes, and streaming personalities, to take home the $50,000 top prize. The event, held at the PokerGO studio, featured gameplay streamed live on PokerGO and the Celebrity Poker Tour’s YouTube channel.
The tournament showcased a diverse group of participants, from “Impractical Jokers” star Brian “Q” Quinn to NFL and NBA athletes, Twitch streamers like Ninja, and America’s Got Talent finalist Sofie Dossi. Despite the mixed experience levels, Ho’s expertise shone throughout the game. With nearly $5.5 million in live earnings, the Women in Poker Hall of Famer was the most accomplished player in the competition.
The action-packed finale saw several dramatic moments. At the final table, Ho strategically built her stack, taking down key opponents like Hayes Pullard and CJ So Cool to maintain a dominant chip lead. Sofie Dossi’s elimination in third place came after a stunning runner-runner full house gave Ho the advantage in one of the most improbable hands of the event.
Heads-up play against Quinn proved to be a quick affair. Quinn, starting with only 2% of the chips, managed a few double-ups but couldn’t overcome Ho’s overwhelming lead. The final hand saw Ho’s ace-king defeat Quinn’s weak hand, securing her victory.
Q, who finished second, walked away with $20,000 and a memorable experience. Dossi earned $10,000 for her third-place finish, and several other celebrities added exciting moments to the night. Ho’s triumph not only capped off the 2024 Celebrity Poker Tour season but also reinforced her reputation as one of the game’s best.
