The win gives Foxen her third PGT title of the year
Kristen Foxen is off to a strong start at the 2025 US Poker Open after winning the opening event, a $5,100 No-Limit Hold’em tournament held at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. She topped a field of 129 entries to earn $158,025 and claim her third PokerGO Tour title of the year.
The event generated a prize pool of $645,000 and featured a competitive final table that included six American players and one Canadian — Foxen, who ultimately walked away with the trophy. Ping Liu finished second for $96,750 after a lengthy battle that saw the chip lead change hands multiple times between the final three players.
The final table started with Liu and Francis Anderson leading the chip count, while Foxen sat close behind. Justin Saliba was the first to exit the table, finishing in seventh place and earning $25,800. Liu eliminated David Peters next, followed by Foxen knocking out Michael Arellano with a lucky two on the turn to keep herself in contention.
Anderson made his move by sending Anthony Hu to the rail in fourth place, but momentum continued to shift as Foxen, Anderson, and Liu each spent time at the top of the leaderboard. A pivotal hand came when Foxen’s A-2 held on a paired board to beat Anderson’s pocket tens, leaving him short-stacked and on his way out in third place with a $70,950 payout.
Foxen entered heads-up play with a strong lead and sealed the win after Liu briefly narrowed the gap. The final hand saw her complete a flush with A♥7♥ to beat Liu’s K♦J♥.
Already having captured her fifth WSOP bracelet and a deep run in last year’s Main Event, Foxen’s latest win brings her career live earnings to over $9.8 million and confirms she remains one of the most consistent forces on the circuit.
