Spanne earned the biggest result of his career and now has over $1 million in tournament earnings
Joey Spanne captured the title at the Wynn Millions Main Event, earning $397,319 after outlasting a tough field. The victory marked the largest score of his career and pushed his lifetime tournament earnings past the $1 million mark.
The $3,500 buy-in event attracted 694 entries, creating a prize pool of roughly $2.2 million. A total of 87 players made the money, with several well-known names finishing in the payouts but falling short of the final table.
The field featured a mix of experienced pros and rising players. Deep runs from players like Jeff Madsen and Adam Walton added to the competition, but both were eliminated before reaching the later stages of the final table.
At the start of the final table, Chahn Jung held a clear chip lead, while others worked with shorter stacks. Early eliminations came quickly, including Ryan Tosoc and Gregory Rankich, as the field narrowed and pressure increased.
Spanne began to build momentum midway through the final table. He scored a key double-up and followed it with a crucial knockout, shifting the balance of power. His steady climb continued as he picked his spots and avoided costly mistakes.
Four-handed play saw a major shift when Spanne gained control after a strong hand against one of the chip leaders. From there, he kept applying pressure and eliminated more opponents to move closer to the title.
Three-handed action eventually came to an end, setting up a heads-up match between Spanne and Jung. Jung entered with the lead, but the gap quickly closed after a couple of big pots went Spanne’s way.
The final hand came when Jung moved all-in with a pair on the flop, only to run into Spanne’s stronger holding. The hand held, sealing the win and giving Spanne the biggest result of his career.
