The American poker pro took down the opening $5,100 PLO event in the PokerGO Tour
Jesse Lonis is showing no signs of slowing down after capturing his eighth tournament title of 2025. The American poker pro added another win to his incredible year by taking down the opening $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha event in the PokerGO Tour (PGT) PLO Series II in Las Vegas. Competing inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA, Lonis claimed the trophy and a $175,000 top prize, along with 175 leaderboard points toward the season-ending $1 million PGT Championship Freeroll scheduled for January.
The victory continues a run that has seen Lonis dominate both high roller and super high roller events around the world. Known for his aggressive and fearless style, he compared his approach at the tables to entering “gorilla mode,” describing a mindset where he locks in and outplays elite opponents. This win comes months after he also captured the inaugural PGT PLO Series title in April, once again proving his ability to thrive under pressure.
The final table was fast-paced, lasting just over an hour. Lonis started second in chips among six finalists but faced early setbacks, doubling up both Josh Arieh and Artem Maksimov. He regained control with a flopped set of threes that held against Isaac Haxton’s nut flush draw, setting up a deep run. After eliminating Maksimov and sending seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Arieh to the rail in third, Lonis defeated Chino Rheem heads-up to secure the title.
Lonis’s hot streak extends well beyond Las Vegas. Earlier this year, he won major events on the Triton Poker Series in Montenegro, earning over $3.4 million in the $106,000 Main Event. He also claimed a $1.7 million victory in Cyprus at the ONYX Super High Roller Series. With eight titles already this year and millions in earnings, Lonis has established himself as one of the most consistent and dangerous tournament players in the game today.
