The long-time poker grinder picked up his first six-figure payday
Jeremy Becker has secured his first PokerGO title by winning event No. 2 at the 2024 Poker Masters, a $10,100 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament. Becker, who had already built a solid poker career with over $1.5 million in earnings, took home a career-best $255,000 with this victory, marking his first six-figure payday. This win also pushed his total earnings beyond $1.8 million, making it a significant milestone in his poker journey.
The event, held at the PokerGO Studio inside ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, drew 100 entries, creating a prize pool of $1 million. Becker not only took home the top prize but also added 600 Card Player Player of the Year points, bringing his total to 3,901 for the year. He is now ranked 23rd in the POY standings, tying with David Coleman for the most final-table appearances in 2024, with 21.
Becker entered the second day of the event as the chip leader, fending off tough competition from poker stars like Michael Moncek, Daniel Sepiol, and Ren Lin. Lin was the first to be eliminated, earning $50,000 for his 12th final-table finish of the year, while Sepiol finished fourth, taking home $90,000.
Moncek, who had a slight chip lead entering heads-up play, saw his chances slip away after Becker doubled up several times. The decisive moment came when Becker caught Moncek bluffing with king-high, giving him the momentum. The final hand saw Moncek shove with ace-seven, but Becker’s queen-ten paired on the board, securing the win.
Moncek finished as the runner-up with $165,000, while Becker celebrated his first PokerGO Tour title and a well-deserved place among poker’s rising stars.
