Koon now has almost $66 million in the bank from playing poker
Jason Koon added another major title to his impressive poker résumé after winning the $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em event at the 2025 World Series of Poker. He topped a field of 171 entries to secure the gold bracelet and nearly $2 million in prize money, pushing his lifetime tournament earnings to almost $66 million.
Koon entered the final day as the chip leader and maintained control throughout, ultimately defeating Andrew Lichtenberger heads-up to win $1,968,927. The score was Koon’s second WSOP bracelet and continues a strong run of results for the 39-year-old, who has earned over $6.5 million since May alone. With recent titles on the Triton Poker Series and continued dominance in high roller events, Koon has climbed to third on the all-time money list.

The final table featured a strong lineup, including Viktor Blom, Ben Tollerene, and Lichtenberger. A key moment came when Koon’s pocket aces held against Sean Winter’s kings early in the day, boosting him to a commanding lead. From there, he eliminated Blom and won a massive hand against Lichtenberger’s pocket kings with his own pocket aces—flopping top set and never looking back.
Lichtenberger put up a strong fight, regaining the chip lead during heads-up play before Koon pulled away once more. On the final hand, Lichtenberger moved all-in with ace-ten, and Koon called with king-queen. A king on the flop sealed the win for Koon.
Lichtenberger earned $1,312,610 for his runner-up finish, while Tollerene took third for $914,634. The victory marks another milestone in Koon’s career, reaffirming his position as one of the most consistent high-stakes players in the game today. With a more selective approach to the tournament grind, Koon continues to shine whenever he enters the arena.
