The title breaks a WSOP bracelet dry spell that has lingered since 2022

Jason Daly claimed his second World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after a dominant run in Event #47: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better / Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better. The tournament drew a tough field to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, but Daly emerged on top, taking home $244,674 and eliminating some of the event’s biggest names along the way—including Phil Hellmuth.

The spotlight for much of Day 3 centered on Hellmuth’s pursuit of an 18th WSOP bracelet. Daly and Hellmuth were seated side by side at the final table, creating plenty of memorable moments, both at the table and in conversation. Daly took it in stride, acknowledging Hellmuth’s colorful style while showing respect: “He’s nice about it. If he ever crosses a line, he owns it. It’s good for the game.”

Daly’s performance down the stretch was relentless. He eliminated Jon Kyte (5th), Tobias Hausen (4th), Hellmuth (3rd), and finally Kevin Choi (2nd) in quick succession. His aggressive approach paid off. “When I get to these final tables, I’m boom or bust,” Daly said. “When you get momentum, you don’t let off the gas.”

The road to the title wasn’t easy. Daly had started the day third in chips and worked his way through a strong field that included Gus Hansen, Brian Rast, Gary Benson, and Benny Glaser. By the time the final table formed, he and Hellmuth were nearly even, but Daly soon took control and never looked back.

Daly now has two WSOP bracelets, adding to the one he won in 2022. This win, though, felt like another step forward. “The first one is great, but the second brings a little more validation,” he said. Whether he’ll stick around for more events remains uncertain, but this victory, in one of his favorite formats, might just keep him at the tables a little longer.
