The high-stakes grinder continues to show off at the felt with his latest big victory
Isaac Haxton added another impressive victory to his poker resume by winning Event #6 of the 2024 Poker Masters. The $15,100 No-Limit Hold’em event, part of the high-stakes Poker Masters series, took place at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. Haxton, known for his consistent success in high-roller tournaments, took home $352,800 after a thrilling final table battle.
The tournament, which started with six players on Day 2, saw some tough competition. Dylan Linde was the first to exit, followed by Sean Winter and Aram Zobian. This left Haxton to face off against Jeremy Becker and Jim Collopy in a dramatic three-handed showdown.
Becker, who had built up a significant chip lead at one point, tried to make a bold bluff against Collopy but was unsuccessful. Collopy, holding top pair, made the call and took a major pot, pushing him into the chip lead. Soon after, Haxton made a key move with 10-6 suited, eliminating Becker in third place when he hit a flush on the river. Becker earned $163,800 for his efforts, marking his second six-figure win during this series.
The heads-up match between Haxton and Collopy saw plenty of back-and-forth action. Haxton initially took the lead, only for Collopy to grind his way back in front. However, a critical hand swung the momentum back in Haxton’s favor when he rivered a full house and gained a decisive advantage. Collopy couldn’t recover, eventually going all-in with 10-9 suited but falling to Haxton’s 6-2 offsuit.
With this victory, Haxton continues to solidify his status as one of the top players in the game, bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to nearly $50 million. Collopy, meanwhile, finished second for the second time in this series, taking home $226,800.
