The latest victory marks the third Limit Hold’em Championship title for the grinder
Ian Johns has secured his fourth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after winning the 2025 $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship, further cementing his reputation as one of the top players in fixed-limit formats. The 40-year-old from Seattle topped a field of 118 entries and earned $282,455, marking his second win in this particular event—his first came back in 2016.
Johns’ victory came after a tough final table that included some of poker’s most well-known names. Among those who made deep runs were Daniel Negreanu (8th), Ryan Bambrick (5th), Pedro Neves (4th), Anthony Zinno (3rd), and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who finished runner-up.
With this win, Johns becomes a four-time WSOP champion, three of those titles coming in Limit Hold’em events. He also took down the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. in 2016 and first earned WSOP gold in a $3,000 Limit Hold’em event in 2006.
Starting the final day in third chip position, Johns played a steady game. He sent Neves packing in fourth place and then eliminated Zinno in a key pot where ace-high held up against king-ten. That left Johns heads-up with Blom, a well-known force in online high-stakes cash games.
The final duel started with Johns holding the chip advantage, and he widened the gap with a full house in a major pot. The final hand saw Blom commit his stack with a flush draw, but Johns had top pair and held through the river. Blom took home $188,295, bringing his live career earnings to over $8.4 million.
This latest win boosts Johns’ total live tournament earnings to more than $2.2 million. He also earned points toward both the Card Player Player of the Year and PokerGO Tour rankings. It’s his second cash of the 2025 WSOP, continuing a career built on consistency and strong results in limit formats.
