This marks Hellmuth’s 76th WSOP final table appearance
Phil Hellmuth has advanced to his first final table of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) after surging through the field in a major tournament. The 17-time bracelet winner secured his spot among the final eight players in the $10,000 Limit Omaha 8 or Better Championship.
Hellmuth entered the third day of competition ranked seventh out of fifteen returning competitors but capitalized on key hands to strengthen his position. A spectacular hand where he hit four of a kind on the river eliminated Rob Hollink in 14th place and initiated his upward trajectory. Shortly after, another massive pot victory allowed him to climb even higher in the chip standings as the field rapidly narrowed.
Hellmuth later secured his second elimination of the day by busting Josh Arieh in ninth place, which officially set the final table. Following that knockout, Hellmuth held approximately 1,400,000 chips, placing him fifth overall as the remaining players prepared for the final stretch.
Dylan Weisman established himself as the tournament frontrunner, entering the final stage of play with a leading stack of just over 3,000,000 chips.
This achievement marks the 76th time in his career that Hellmuth has reached a WSOP final table. Every remaining player has locked up a minimum payout of $41,334 for making it this far in the event.
However, the ultimate focus remains on the championship gold bracelet and the top prize of $450,176 that will be awarded at the conclusion of play. Through his performance, the Poker Hall of Famer remains in contention to extend his record and capture his 18th career title.
