The Day 2 chip leader had to fight back in the end to secure the victory

Felipe Boianovsky claimed the BSOP Super High Roller title after one of the wildest runs of his career, securing R$3,200,000 (US$640,000) and adding another major trophy to his résumé. He started Day 2 as the chip leader, yet his path was anything but steady. He slipped to a short stack multiple times, battled back with key double-ups, and managed to stay alive long enough to regain control when it mattered most.

The victory came on a meaningful day for the Brazilian pro. With friends and his girlfriend cheering from the rail, Boianovsky said the moment felt even more special because his nephew was born that same day. He described the experience as emotional and unforgettable, especially with the win happening on home turf.

Boianovsky has long been a force online, where he has collected multiple SCOOP and WCOOP titles, including a SCOOP Main Event win worth more than $1 million in 2023. His success live has also been steady, highlighted by a BSOP Super High Roller win last year and strong finishes on the European Poker Tour. Only his runner-up result in a $57,000 event in Monte Carlo has paid him more.

He noted that live poker brings a different intensity. Cameras, crowd noise, and the risk of giving off physical tells make each decision feel heavier. Still, with years of live experience, he handled the pressure well enough to push his career earnings beyond $3 million and place himself among Brazil’s all-time leaders.

Day 2 began with 15 players and three late entries, bringing the field to 40. Early action included the elimination of Thiago Crema, followed by a series of swings for Boianovsky, who doubled through Leonardo Rizzo to stay afloat. Once the bubble burst, he cracked aces and won a crucial race against eventual runner-up Leandro Zavodini.

After more momentum shifts, Boianovsky seized control during a big pot against Vladimir Minko, then closed out the tournament during heads-up play. A time-bank misstep cost Zavodini a strong hand, and moments later Boianovsky sealed the title with a turned nut flush.

He praised the BSOP for delivering an event that matched the feel of the world’s top high-roller series and said the win capped off a day he will remember for the rest of his life.
