The poker pro had a strong run and took down the $10,000 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold ’em event
At the 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), Erik Seidel, one of the most respected names in poker, secured another notable victory by winning the $10,000 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold ’em event. This tournament, part of the SHRPO series, attracted almost 70 entrants, generating a prize pool of $655,500.
Seidel, a Poker Hall of Famer, faced tough competition as the event took place. Among the notable players who competed but didn’t cash were Dylan Linde, Ren Lin, Jeremy Becker, and Kristen Foxen. Joe Serock, who recently reached the final table of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, narrowly missed the money, finishing as the tournament’s bubble boy.
The tournament was reaching its final stages and Seidel found himself up against Nazar Buhaiov and Clemen Deng. Buhaiov’s tournament participation ended when he moved all-in with king-jack, only to be called by Seidel, who held ace-ten. The board offered no help to Buhaiov, sending him out in third place with a $80,300 payday.
This left Seidel and Deng to battle it out for the title. With Seidel holding a slight chip advantage, the two players decided to strike a deal. Both walked away with $179,000, but it was Seidel who was officially crowned the winner of the event.
This victory adds another impressive achievement to Seidel’s amazing poker career, further cementing his status as one of the game’s all-time greats. The 2024 SHRPO continues to see poker’s biggest stars competing for titles and significant prize money, with many more events still to be decided before the series wraps up on August 13.
