One of poker’s winningest players is off to a great start once again this year
While spectators may marvel at how these poker stars achieve consistency, the players themselves simply go out and perform. Eric Seidel is one of those players, and he did it again at the US Poker Open in a $5,100 No-Limit Hold ’em event that drew 116 entrants.
The win adds $145,000 to his impressive $46.2 million in career cashes, which Seidel has amassed since the late 1980s, putting him 10th on the all-time money list. Seidel won a total of $332,710 from seven PokerGO Tour events in 2024. In March, he won the $10,500 Wynn Millions Poker high-roller event, adding another quarter-million to his winnings.
Seidel is a well-known name in the world of poker. With a career spanning over four decades, the 64-year-old has consistently proven his worth and earned accolades for his exceptional skills. He continues to make his mark by running deep in high buy-in events on PokerGo’s schedule, broadcasting tournaments from the Aria for his subscribers.
In 2020, Seidel won the $50,000 Super High Roller event, ending a 26-year drought of winning bracelets in live tournaments to earn $1.7 million. He won his 9th bracelet in 2021 in a $10,000 international online event.
In 2018, Seidel was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, cementing his status as one of the greatest poker players of all time. He continues to be a force to be reckoned with at the poker table, and he shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.
The US Poker Open continues for the next two weeks, with Day 1 of the $3,300 buy-in $2 million guaranteed championship beginning on April 24.
