The German player closed out the PLO series of events with a big win
Dennis Weiss claimed his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet at the 2024 WSOP Europe, winning Event #6: €5,000 (US$5,525) Pot-Limit Omaha and taking home €159,897 (US$170,000). The tournament, hosted at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, saw Weiss outlast a competitive field of 141 players. Weiss, a PLO specialist from Germany, secured his biggest win to date, significantly boosting his career earnings. This victory brought him the coveted bracelet and marked a milestone as his most substantial prize by far.
Weiss defeated fellow German Amir Mozaffarian in heads-up play to take home the top prize. Mozaffarian, though falling short of the title, still walked away with €103,092 (US$110,000) for his runner-up finish. Bulgaria’s Nikola Minkov rounded out the top three, earning €68,791 (US$73,000) for his deep run.
Reflecting on his victory, Weiss expressed excitement but admitted that he was still processing the achievement. He shared that winning a WSOP bracelet had been a long-term goal, and he looks forward to more opportunities in the future. Weiss primarily plays Pot Limit Omaha and 5-card Omaha but is also interested in mixed games whenever possible, particularly at WSOP events.
The final table was stacked with talent, but Weiss maintained a strong position throughout, even entering the heads-up match with a 2:1 chip lead. His aggressive play during the final stages allowed him to quickly extend this lead and secure the win in just 20 minutes of heads-up action.
This win concludes the third and final Pot Limit Omaha event at this year’s WSOP Europe, with Weiss joining previous bracelet winners Volodymyr Kokoulin and Vivian Saliba from the earlier PLO tournaments.
