The win pushes Dvoress past $53 million in career earnings
Daniel Dvoress added another major title to his résumé by winning the $100,000 short deck event at the Triton Super High Roller Series in Jeju. The victory earned him $1.38 million and marked his third Triton title, his first on the tour since 2023.
The tournament drew 46 entries, all paying a six-figure buy-in. It took hours of play on Day 2 just to reach the money, with several big names falling before the final stages. The slow structure and deep stacks made for a long and demanding battle.
Jason Koon entered the final table as one of the favorites and built a strong chip lead early. He scored multiple eliminations, including a key hand where he cracked a stronger pair to knock a player out on the bubble.
Dvoress stayed patient through the middle stages and picked his spots carefully. He gained momentum with a series of well-timed hands, including a crucial pot where he eliminated a short stack with a higher flush.
Three-handed play saw constant shifts in chip counts between Dvoress, Koon, and Winfred Yu. At one point, Dvoress was close to elimination but managed to survive with a straight completed on the river, keeping his run alive.
Yu eventually fell in third place after losing a key pot, setting up a heads-up battle between Dvoress and Koon. The two began with nearly even stacks, raising the stakes for the final duel.
The deciding moment came when Koon moved in with a strong pair, only to run into Dvoress’ overcards. An ace on the flop turned the hand in Dvoress’ favor, and it held through the river.
