Clark faces two felony counts after being arrested in Oklahoma

Scotter Clark, who became known for attending the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in costume as a pirate, was arrested on Monday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Clark has two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon to answer following a brutal fight that reportedly involved an attempt to solicit and stabbing.

Tulsa police reported that Clark allegedly made a sex offer to a woman, which she declined. The woman’s companion challenged Clark, and a fight broke out. Investigators report that Clark stabbed the man multiple times in the head and chest before getting away in a blue pickup truck.

Police say that during his departure, Clark drove the truck over the woman involved in the original exchange again. The two victims were rushed to a local hospital and are both going to be alright.

A witness observed and immediately contacted Clark’s emergency services, and a license plate number was used by police to track Clark. Clark was later apprehended that evening. Clark, while being interrogated, reportedly told officers he was attacked following what he reported was an attempted break-in of his vehicle.

Clark, an Iowan, has been on the poker circuit for years. With a live tournament cash stagnation of over \$500,000, he has competed in WSOP, WSOP Circuit, and RunGood Poker Series tournaments. His flamboyant lifestyle, particularly his pirate-themed fashion sense, made him a familiar face in mid-stakes events.

But this isn’t Clark’s first run-in with the criminal justice system. He served a lengthy federal prison term after being convicted in 2000 of distributing drugs, specifically selling cocaine, and the conviction carried a 15-year sentence.

The arrest earlier this week adds another shady new chapter to Clark’s already questionable public existence. His legal future will now be determined in Oklahoma courts, where he might be looking at hard time in prison if he’s found guilty.
