Gollins turned $600 into a $105,444 prize as she continues to shine at the tables
Christina “Baby Shark” Gollins is celebrating her second World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring after taking the $600 Housewarming at Commerce Casino event over 1,483 entrants to earn the $105,444 top prize.
Gollins moved beyond $700,000 in live tournament winnings after securing the biggest cash of her career and was the only player at the final table with a WSOPC ring. She won her first Circuit ring in a 2021 $400 buy-in tournament at Bell Gardens in Los Angeles for $25,000. Gollins came close to winning another bracelet after a third-place finish in the $1,000 WSOP Ladies Championship in 2021, earning $72,604.
Weiqiang Zhao, John Solis, and Golins were the only players remaining before the champion made a tough decision with a strong hand that altered the tournament’s outcome. Gollins made an opening 700K bet with A-K offsuit before Solis three-bet to 1.7 million with pocket kings. Weiqiang then applied the pressure after going all-in for 17 million with his pocket queens.
Gollins responded by saying, “This is gonna be the best fold of my (f***ing) life,” before mucking her hand and then watching Solis’ kings fall after Weiqiang hit a set on the flop.
The WSOPC Series event at The Commerce marks the end of the 2023/24 season. The series continues with ring events running through May 21, including the $1 Million Tournament of Champions freeroll. All 2023 WSOP Circuit ring and bracelet winners are invited to the event, which will begin on May 22.
