A pair of eights was enough for Yockey to capture his latest victory

Almost seven years after winning his first piece of World Series of Poker (WSOP) hardware, Bryce Yockey is among the few to repeat. He won another WSOP gold bracelet after overcoming 733 players to take the 2024 WSOP $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event. He increased his lifetime earnings to over $5.1 million with the win, securing a career-best $606,654 payday. Yockey also earned 1,824 Card Player Player of the Year points after making his third final table of 2024, moving him up to 38th place in the POY standings.

The top 110 players split the $3,371,800 prize pool, with the top six finishers earning at least a six-figure score. Eleven players survived until the final day, with Gabrial Andrade (11th), Brian Rast (10th), and Naoya Kihara (9th) eliminated before the final table.

Yockey earned the first two eliminations at the final table on the same hand. Paul Radcliffe ($60,405) went home in eighth place, along with Joao Simao ($79,661) in seventh after Yockey hit a straight on the turn to secure the three-way pot.

Three-time bracelet winner Joao Vieira ($106,795) was denied his fourth bracelet after falling to the rail in sixth place. Jason Berilgen ($145,504) fell to Yockey in fifth place, and Aditya Sadhu ($201,419) was the champion’s next victim in fourth place.

Yockey ended Zachary Schwartz’s ($283,221) run in third place before he faced Farid Jattin ($404,430) heads-up for the title with a 4:1 chip lead. The winner increased his lead significantly before the final hand when he put Jattin all-in and turned a pair of eights to claim the championship.
