The poker pro picked up his second PGT title of the month, along with almost $500,000
Ben Tollerene secured a major win in the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) Championship, taking home a $496,000 prize after coming out on top of a talented field. The $25,200 buy-in event, held at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, was part of the PLO Series II and marked Tollerene’s second PGT title in just a month.
Known for his expertise in Omaha, Tollerene bested 62 players to claim the championship. The final table featured notable names, including Finland’s Samuli Sipila, who finished as the runner-up. Other poker stars at the final table included Joni Jouhkimainen, Ben Lamb, Josh Arieh, Jesse Lonis, and Switzerland’s Fernando Habegger.
Tollerene’s victory follows his $510,000 win in a $25,200 No-Limit Hold ’em event during the Poker Masters series. This recent triumph further solidifies his place as one of the top high-stakes players, adding to his already impressive $16 million in lifetime earnings.
The PLO Series II wasn’t just about Tollerene’s win. Matthew Wantman locked up the overall series race, finishing with six cashes, including a victory in Event #3, a $5,100 PLO event. Wantman managed to edge out some of the top competitors in the series, such as Jeremy Ausmus, Alex Foxen, and poker legend Daniel Negreanu, who also performed well throughout the tournament.
Tollerene’s latest accomplishment adds to a stellar year, highlighted by a second-place finish in the WSOP $250,000 Super High Roller event earlier in 2023, where he pocketed a career-best $3.5 million. His consistency in high-stakes tournaments continues to make him a dominant force on the PGT circuit.
