Aram Zobian named this year's US Poker Open champion

The tournament series has drawn to a close after several outstanding performances

The 2024 US Poker Open (USPO) series points race was decided at the final table of the last tournament scheduled with the player who finished higher between Aram Zobian and Jesse Lonis winning the championship. However, Zobian had an easier path, as Lonis needed not only to win the event but also to have Zobian finish outside the top five. The cards didn’t fall as he had hoped.

After Lonis fell in sixth place, Zobian would officially take the top prize of a $25,000 PokerGO Tour passport and the USPO Golden Eagle trophy. He finished fifth to earn $78,000 and 47 PGT points in his fourth cash of the series.

Zobian took the title in event No. 6, as well as a second and third-place finishbefore his latest deep run. He also cashed the highest total of $613,540 during the USPO and joined Stephen Chidwick ($597,850) as the only players to win over half a million during the series.

The 2024 USPO paid out $7,350,000 in prizes across its eight tournaments, with 652 total entries. Forty-eight players finished in the money, and 26 earned multiple cashes. Rodger Johnson and Victoria Livschitz were the only players to cash in five series events.

Zobian’s championship run was achieved in event No. 6, one of two $15,100 buy-in tournaments at the series. He outlasted 62 entrants to win $264,290 and 298 points, taking the series points lead before the final two events.

Zobian now has nearly $6.5 million in career earnings and is now 15th in the Card Player Player of the Year standings with 2,512 points. He has $983,190 in earnings after reaching nine final tables so far this year.
