The long-time grinder puts his skills to the test and comes out on top
Andrew Robl proved once again why heās one of pokerās most skilled cash game players on episode four of Season 12 of High Stakes Poker, which aired Monday night on PokerGO.
The high roller continued what he so often does on televised poker shows, running hot as he did during last weekās Episode 3. The rest of the players were the same this week, except for Jean-Robert Bellande, who Chino Rheem replaced. It didnāt matter, as the aggressive Robl simply could not be beaten against an all-in bet.
Robl started with the biggest stack, thanks to last week’s domination. He would battle against Nikhil “Nik Airball” Arcot, Justin Gavri, Vivian Yang, Santhosh Suvarna, Phil Laak and Rheem.
Robl began the session by taking a decent-sized pot with ace-high against Suvarna, whose king-high forced him to fold. The action on the next hand saw Robl in a showdown against Gavri as the favorite and take the entire $264,100 pot after running it twice.
He would be back at it on the following hand after calling Rheemās preflop all-in bet of $77,000 with pocket nines against his opponentās K-Q suited. The players again agreed to run it out twice, and it was no surprise when Robl scooped the entire $164,500 pot again.
A short time later, Robl played an all-in pot holding pocket queens against Suvarnaās A-K offsuit. Again, they chose to run it twice and ended up splitting the $204,700 pot.
Suvarna also lost an $80,000 pot to Robl after he hit the nut straight on the river. He made several impressive plays throughout the night to win a few hands, but he couldnāt win the bigger pots that went to his opponents, except for the chopped pot against Robl.
