The long-time player has come close to scoring a WSOPC ring several times but fell short
Andreas Kniep, a familiar face on the poker circuit, has finally secured his first World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring after several close calls. The German-born software engineer, now living in California, claimed victory in Event #5: $600 No-Limit Hold ’em 6-Handed at the Graton Casino, earning $15,907. This win marked a significant milestone for Kniep, who had previously finished as the runner-up in three separate WSOPC events.
Kniep, who is well-known for his deep runs in major tournaments, including a notable fourth-place finish in the 2023 WSOP Millionaire Maker where he took home $501,182, outlasted a competitive field of 120 players. In the final heads-up battle, Kniep defeated Pedro Green to secure the win.
This victory was particularly sweet for Kniep, who had already shown strong form earlier in the series, also finishing third in Event #3: $400 No-Limit Hold ’em Mega Stack, where he earned $10,451. Kniep’s vibrant personality and distinctive style have made him a fan favorite on the live poker scene, with his popularity further boosted after a memorable run in the 2021 WSOP Main Event.
The final table of the 6-handed event featured a lineup of tough competitors, including Californians Frank Saunders, who finished third, Loren Egide in fourth, Taylor Pollard in fifth, and poker journalist Terrance Reid, who rounded out the final table in sixth place. Reid has been on an impressive run himself, with recent deep finishes in major events.
For Kniep, this win not only adds a WSOP Circuit ring to his list of poker achievements but also serves as a testament to his persistence and skill in the game. Now, with his first major WSOPC victory, this player may have enough motivation to come back stronger than ever in high-stakes tournaments.
