The US Poker Open wrapped up this past Sunday after its successful annual series
Global Poker’s online series, the 2023 US Poker Open, wrapped up on Sunday after starting on August 21 and running through Sunday’s final four tournaments. “FlushMe2Tears” dominated with four tournament wins in the series, while “amx” and “FishSamich” finished at the top of the two leaderboards.
Thirty-two Gold Coins (GC) events, 16 Low and 16 High tournaments, were featured in the Global Poker USPO and 32 Sweeps Coins (SC) events. “FlushMe2Tears” had already won three GC events among the first 12 tournaments, adding his fourth in Event #13-H, GC 99,000 Super Deep No-Limit Hold ’em to win GC 5,790,000. No other player had more than two wins, including the SC events.
The final weekend had the event’s biggest tournaments, such as the Main Event, played on Sunday. The SC 99 Main Event had 1,307 players, while the GC 99,000 Main Event drew 401 entries. “Tuggyswife” was the winner of the Gold Coins Main Event for GC 23,687,500, and “Squirrel22” took home the series’ biggest prize of SC 41,750 in the big Sweeps Coins event.
Surprisingly, “FlushMe2Tears” didn’t win the series championship with his four titles. The winner of Event #14-H for GC 7,681,951 was “amx,” who collected the most points to narrowly win the championship.
The difference between first and second place in the Sweeps Coins leaderboard was more significant. “FishSamich” won Event #4-H: SC 99 Super Turbo Bounty (6-Max), beating 447 players for SC 6,158.21 and earning 1,090.43 points to top the leaderboard. “Betohas” earned 969.58 points to finish second, and “flush634” was third with 888.59 points.
