The current record for the largest field in this tournament is 10,043 entries, set last year when the WSOP aimed to exceed the previous high of 8,773 entries set in 2006, the year Jamie Gold won the championship bracelet and a $12,000,000 top prize. Last year, Daniel Weinman won the main event, taking home $12,100,000, the largest payout in the event’s history, and earned his second career bracelet.
This year, the first three starting flights have collectively attracted 4,275 entries, with 916 on Day 1A, 831 on Day 1B, and 2,528 on Day 1C. By the time of reporting, Day 1D had already drawn over 4,750 participants, bringing the total entries to over 9,000. The single starting flight turnout record stands at 4,879, set on Day 1C in 2019.
With $9,300 from each buy-in contributing to the prize pool, the pool is now unofficially nearing $84 million. This figure is expected to increase significantly as late registration continues for some time.
