The poker tables continue to light up with big-money tournaments
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is making a triumphant return to the Bahamas, bringing with it the largest guarantee in live poker tournament history. The WSOP Paradise festival, set to take place from December 6-19, will feature a $50 million guaranteed Super Main Event.
This year’s WSOP Paradise promises to be bigger and better, with GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu exclaiming, “A $50 million guarantee in The Bahamas! Are these guys crazy?” The festival will include a comprehensive set of high roller and super high roller tournaments, making it one of the most anticipated events in the poker calendar.
“The action we saw during the WSOP summer series is a testament to the health of poker, particularly for high-roller tournaments,” WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart said. “Last year was no one-time gimmick. We’re thrilled GGPoker has reaffirmed their commitment to building WSOP Paradise through the biggest guarantee in poker history.”
The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the Super Main Event. With a buy-in of $25,000, this No-Limit Hold ’em championship event comes with a $50 million guarantee. Online qualifiers and tournament promotions for this event have already begun.
In addition to the Super Main Event, the festival will also feature a $1,000,000 buy-in tournament. A full schedule of the festival is expected to be released later this year.
Last year’s WSOP Paradise was a resounding success, with German online qualifier Stanislav Zegal taking home $2 million from the Main Event. This year, with a guarantee three times larger, the stakes are even higher.
