The World Poker Tour will host two major tournament festivals in Cyprus
The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced its return to Cyprus for two highly anticipated tournament festivals during its current season. Both upcoming events will take place at the Chamada Prestige Hotel and Casino, providing international competitors with premier poker experiences in a popular Mediterranean destination. The expanded schedule highlights the growing prominence of the region in the global poker circuit and promises significant prize pools for participants.
The action begins in August with the first festival running from August 12 to August 24. This series will culminate in the $3,500 buy-in main championship event, which features a massive $2 million guaranteed prize pool. Players will have three starting flights to secure their spot in the field and compete for a chance to join the exclusive champions club. Fans worldwide will also be able to follow the drama of the final table through a scheduled livestream.
The tour returns to the same venue in October for the second festival of the year. Running from October 7 to October 19, this series centers around a $1,100 buy-in championship event with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. This tournament offers five starting flights to accommodate the large expected field, and its final table will also feature a live broadcast. Tour executives expressed enthusiasm for the double stop, praising the venue hospitality and the passionate regional player base.
These two Mediterranean stops are part of a broader global schedule for the second half of the season. The tour will also visit major venues in Australia, Texas, California, and Las Vegas. Organizers expect these events to draw massive crowds as players compete for millions in prizes and historic titles.
