The success series will begin to wrap up with its biggest events this weekend
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Global Winter Festival began on Christmas Eve and runs through January 14, with three Main Events scheduled for players with different bankrolls on January 13. A total of $4 million in prizes will be awarded throughout the series.
Players of every level have a chance to participate in the Main Events. However, if the buy-ins seem expensive, they can visit the WPT Global website and join the different satellites to earn a discounted seat for any of the three tournaments.
Besides the upcoming Main Events, there are several other side events still upcoming on the WPT Global Winter Festival schedule, which can be viewed on the WPT website.
The three main events coming up this weekend include the Mini Winter Main Event, which has a buy-in of $22 and a guaranteed $40,000 prize pool. The tournament will be played in a progressive knockout tournament (PKO) format, meaning even players who don’t reach the final table can win big cash prizes.
The second Winter Main Event is for mid-stakes players, featuring a $220 buy-in and a hefty $400,000 guaranteed prize pool. It will also offer larger prizes to players who fail to make a deep run using the PKO format.
The final Main Event at the WPT Global Winter Festival is the WPT Championship Main Event, with a $3,500 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $400,000. The tournament winner will take home the WPT Championship trophy and a free entry to the $10,400 WPT World Championship at the end of 2024.
